Job DescriptionEisai is working to evolve its business model from a traditional pharmaceutical value chain model to an Ecosystem Platform Model. The Director, Ecosystem Platform Strategy will develop and implement strategies in focused therapeutic areas in order to deliver Predictive and Preventive solutions that align with launches of our industry-leading pipeline and maximize existing products value. Data is obtained through Eisais pharmaceutical value chain model (research & development, clinical trials, manufacturing, post marketing including real world evidence), as well as through wearable/diagnostic devices, IoT, insurance information including claims, healthcare institutions, consortiums, NGOs/NPOs, other players/partners. Eventually, we will combine our unique understanding of disease with data to create new revenue opportunities outside of the traditional pharmaceutical business.Focusing in therapeutic areas of Alzheimers disease, Sleep, Epilepsy and Oncology, the Director will also design and develop various two-way communication forums and platforms between Eisai and patients, their family members or caregivers, and providers of medical services.This role will collaborate proactively and closely with cross-functional teams including Brand Teams, Medical, Clinical, Research, Business Development, Market Access, Finance, IT, hDAC (data creation centers: Eisais data scientists) and Legal/Compliance.Key Responsibilities:1. Develop and implement Ecosystem Platform Model strategy and its roadmap in Eisais focused therapeutic areas, such as Alzheimers disease, sleep/epilepsy, oncology (hepatocellular carcinoma), in tight alignment with upcoming new pharmaceutical product launches and maximization of existing pharmaceutical products value2. Craft blueprint to develop/realize Predictive and Preventive information/solutions to Eisais focused disease areas by utilizing data obtained through Eisais value chain, IoT, wearable/diagnostic tools, insurance data, consortiums, etc.3. Design two-way communication platform with multiple interfaces between Eisai and patients/family members.4. Identify and prioritize promising digital products and service opportunities that are aligned with strategy/agenda of our pipeline and existing products, which can bring data towards Prediction and Prevention5. Proactively collaborate and work closely with cross functional internal (incl. Brand Teams, Medical, Clinical, Research, Business Development, Market Access, Finance, IT, hDAC (data creation centers: Eisais data scientists), Legal/Compliance and Eisais R&D facilities) and external stakeholders6. Prepare reports and presentation of strategies and progress for Ecosystem Platform Model to executive leadership members and corporate committee (global, regional)Job QualificationsMinimum requirement: BS/BA in marketing, engineering, computer science, information/data science, social science, public health, or business-related fieldsMBA or Masters Public Health (MPH) (7-10 years of work experience which could include at least one of the following disciplines: Pharma/Biotech business development, life science consulting, IT platform businesses, patient support service responsibilities, data sciences, diagnostic companiesExperience in or knowledge of the following therapeutic areas is desired: Alzheimers disease, Oncology, Sleep, EpilepsyStrong written and verbal communication skills including presentation skillsDemonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems.Exceptional team player with the confidence and integrity to earn and sustain client and internal team member confidence quickly.
